Exhibition Announcement: Selected Works: Iowa Band Portraits 2015-2026

Come see me in Studio 339 at Mainframe Studios tonight for First Friday, and also next Tuesday evening 6-8pm at Slow Down Coffee Co. for an opening reception for my Selected Works: Iowa Band Portraits 2015-2026 exhibition! I'm so excited to share these portraits and it's so fun to have them on display in my community. I can't wait for you to see the work. ❤️

Tonight's First Friday is a celebration of art, creativity, and community. This month's featured exhibition is CommUNITY, juried by Cody Hickok, highlighting the work of LGBTQIA+ artists and allies — a show about visibility, solidarity, and seeing one another more fully. Alongside it you'll find a solo exhibition by quiltmaker Ben Millett exploring queer identity and communal storytelling, plus a group show of DMPS senior artists.

There's so much to take in: open studios, an interactive art activity with Art is Rad, food and drinks, and special performances by the Des Moines Gay Men's Chorus and drag entertainer Domita Sanchez. First Friday is free, family-friendly, and open to everyone. Park in the free overflow lot at 8th & Center and hop the complimentary shuttle right to the door.
