Pay-What-You-Can Press Photos for Iowa Bands & Musicians
Pay-What-You-Can press photos are back for 2026, exclusively for Iowa-based bands and musicians. I want to make professional press photos accessible to a community I've spent the last 15 years documenting. Iowa is full of incredibly talented musicians who deserve to be seen and heard beyond state lines, and strong visuals are essential for that to happen. You tell me what you can pay, and I'll build your session around that.
Your budget helps shapes the scope of what we create, but it will not factor into whether you're selected. A smaller budget means we’ll keep things focused with straightforward setups and a refined selection of images that work hard for you. A larger budget means we can play with things like more complex styling or set design, or we can shoot longer and get you more images to work with. Either way, you'll receive quality press photos to use in your EPK.
Spots are limited to six, so applications are required. You must be based in Iowa full-time (including all band members), and your project must write and perform original music (no cover bands). When you apply, I want to hear about your sound, influences, and your vision. I work out of my studio at Mainframe in downtown Des Moines, but I'm open alternate locations that suit your band's aesthetic.
